The design for this garden was all about integrating the patch of ground by the newly built and very attractive conservatory at the side of the house with the rest of the garden plus providing access to the front of the house via an existing gateway. Specific client requirements included:
- To enhance the view from inside new conservatory particularly with respect to screening of neighbours wall.
- To include a water feature to provide sound and interest but, importantly, there should be no open areas of water.
- To retain an existing flowering cherry tree, recently moved camellias and borders next to the house.
- To ensure the garden is low maintenance and easy for the gardener to look after. With this in mind, it was requested that planting interest should be provided primarily by shrubs rather than herbaceous plants.
